Privacy policy

The app

welp! runs entirely on your Mac and has no network code. It reads the text in the message box only at the moment you send, to protect it, and never stores, logs or sends message contents anywhere.

The list of guarded chats, your settings and your license key are stored only on your Mac. License keys are checked on your Mac; there is no activation server.

This website

The website uses no analytics and no tracking cookies. Our host (Vercel) keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security and operations.

Purchases

Payments are processed by Paddle, our reseller and Merchant of Record, under Paddle's own privacy policy (paddle.com/legal/privacy). Paddle shares your email address with us so we can send your license key.

We email license keys through Resend, our email provider. Your key contains your email address and the purchase ID, so that you can see who a license belongs to.

When you ask us to resend a lost key, we look up purchases made with that email at Paddle and send the key only to that address.

We don't sell your data or use it for advertising. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, write to support@getwelp.io.
